The Innovate for Progress project seeks to drive economic and social advancement through targeted policy reforms. By addressing barriers to growth and exploring progressive policy options, the project aims to empower both businesses and communities across Africa, bolster sustainable industries, and prepare emerging and low-income economies for greater participation in continental and global markets.

Key initiatives include labor and market reforms, social welfare enhancement, technological advancement and the promotion of cross-border integration through proposals like the African Recognition Visa which is tailored to support the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by easing cross-border mobility for professionals and entrepreneurs, fostering a unified economic front across the continent.

Project Objectives:

  • Support the expansion of digital infrastructure and literacy programs, particularly in underserved regions, to boost workforce productivity and economic inclusion.
  • Propose policies that address labor market entry barriers, focusing on job creation, skills training, and incentives for industries that align with emerging market needs.
  • Advocate for policies that improve social safety nets and economic security, aiming to reduce poverty and inequality through fair wages, healthcare access, and financial literacy programs.
  • Encourage environmentally sustainable practices within industries, aligning economic growth with responsible resource management and climate resilience.
